This issue will address the state-of-the-art in esophageal surgery. A distinguished list of authors will present papers on a variety of topics including, paraesophageal hernias, endoscopic therapies for GERD, achalasia, diverticula, Boerhaave's syndrome, staging and multimodality therapy of esophageal cancer, and functional problems following esophageal surgery
