This book, which consists of text and carefully selected photographs, presents the path Jorge Mario Bergoglio has been on since he was born in the Argentinian family of Italian immigrants, until he became the head of the Holy See. We first learn about his childhood, with a priceless influence of his grandmother, his youth, when he went his own ways, and the time he grew ready for the priesthood. We then move to his biography as a priest (1969– 1992), the Auxiliary Bishop of Archdiocese in Buenos Aires (1992–1998) and the Archbishop of Buenos Aires (1998–2013), who was elevated to the rank of cardinal by Pope John Paul II in 2001. A separate part covers the Conclave after the resignation of Benedict XVI from the post of the Bishop of Rome, when his successor was appointed. The other information and photographs are an attempt to summarise the pontificate so far.
