This course is generally taken by students who either have not previously completed a geometry course or need a refresher course to master these topics. This course may also be appropriate for a Geometry for Teachers course. Students who use "Elementary Geometry for College Students" should have some prerequisite background in elementary algebra. Building on the success of its first three editions, the fourth edition of "Elementary Geometry for College Students" covers the important principles and real-world applications of elementary geometry, and is heavily influenced by the standards recommended by, both the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges (AMATYC).
