The atlas, featuring more than 1,300 colour illustrations, 200 colour drawings and 100 tables, addresses common and important paediatric problems that lend themselves to rapid visual diagnosis. Rather than therapy, the emphasis is on physical diagnosis and simple laboratory evaluation, such as simple tests a practitioner can do in the office or via X-rays to aid diagnosis. Examination techniques, modes of presentation and physical findings are discussed, as are the more difficult diagnostic areas such as child abuse, infectious disease, dermatology, orthopaedics, otolaryngology, neonatology, gynaecology, dentistry and surgery.
