The purpose of this book is to provide clinicians and trainees with overviews of the clinical approaches and applications of different traditional and new diagnostic tests for neuromuscular disorders. Chapters can be read independently. Beginning chapters overview neuromuscular disorders, clinical evaluation, and clinical laboratory tests, and the rest of the book describes tests such as antibody testing, nerve conduction velocity tests, autonomic function testing, needle electromyography, and single-fiber and macro electromyography. Other techniques described include quantitative assessment of muscle strength and performance, phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy, biochemical evaluation of metabolic myopathies, and imaging techniques. B&w images are included. Bertorini is affiliated with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
