Jean Berthier is a scientist within the domain of Microsystems for Biotechnology at CEA/LETI (Laboratory of Electronics, Technology and Information) in Grenoble, France, and an Associate Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Grenoble. An expert member at the OMNT (Observatoire des Micro et Nano Technologies) and EON (European Observatory for Nanotechnology), he also sits on the editorial board of the new journal "Biofluidics." He holds a masters degree in mathematics from the University of Grenoble and both an engineers and masters degree in fluid mechanics from the Institut National Polytechnique. For more than 12 years he has been involved in the development of new microsystems for biotechnology, with a special focus on the microfluidic aspects of these devices. Mr. Berthier has authored numerous international publications and patents.
