Using a balanced selection of case studies from both old and new member states, this book examines the implementation of EU Cohesion policy in an enlarged and increasingly differentiated Europe. It fills an important gap in the research literature on EU regional policy by both studying the implementation of regional policy in individual countries and by allowing for a comparison between old and new EU member states. The number of countries covered makes for a wide range of different domestic settings for the study of regional policy. The inclusion of both academics and policy-makers among the contributors will ensure a wider appeal of the book. This book presents the first major comparative study of EU Cohesion policy after the May 2004 enlargement and the 2006 Cohesion policy reform.
