Od 2005r. Berel Lang jest profesorem wizytującym filozofii na Wesleyan University. Wcześniej był profesorem filozofii na University of Colorado i State University of New York w Albany (dyrektor Ośrodka Humanistycznego).
Jest autorem wielu ksiąęk, m. in. "Act and Idea in the Nazi Genocide" (1990), "The Anatomy of Philosophical Style" (1990), "Holocaust Representation: Art within the Limits of History and Ethics" (2000) i "Philosophical Witnessing: The Holocaust as Presence" (2009).
