Traitors & True Poles Narrating a Polish-American Identity

Majewski (Polish and East Central European studies, Ave Maria U., Michigan) examines immigrant narrative fiction written in Polish and published in the US before World War II. She is primarily concerned with the role of that literature in negotiating a national and ethnic identity, as writers argued the boundaries and obligations of Polishness. She also wants to enter it into the academic study of American ethnic literature and of Polish literature.
