Principles & Practice of Clinical Research

This is the first comprehensive text to address the theoretical and practical issues involved in conducting clinical research. Clinical research encompasses all studies involving human subjects-laboratory analysis of cell lines and tissues from patients, epidemiologic studies and clinical trials of new drugs and treatments-directed at elucidating the causes of disease, as well as strategies for preventing and curing it. The book is based on the course materials for the Core Course in Clinical Research which has been given at the NIH for the past two years to their clinical fellows.
