Development and application of biophotonics instrumentation or products require the combination of know-how in engineering, data processing, chemistry, physics, biology and biotechnology. These areas describe the perception range for a book on applications of vibrational spectroscopic imgaging. Chemists may need more background information on instrumentation and measurement techniques. Engineers will need a detailed description of the physico-chemical basis of the measured data. Biologists and MDs could be interested in technical basics and methods of measurement. Every chapter of the book has to meet these different interests. A concise description of the most important techniques for spectroscopic imaging is not available on the market yet.
