Endocrine Involvement in Developmental Syndromes

Papers from an April 2008 workshop, 16 in all, review global research on endocrine involvement and epigenetic aspects of various developmental syndromes. Some specific topics covered include muscle involvement and IGF-1 signaling in genetic disorders, mitochondrial encephalomyopathies and related syndromes, double diabetes in youth, C-type natriuretic peptide and overgrowth, and the role of transcription factors in midline central nervous system and pituitary defects. The book is for endocrinologists, pediatricians, and geneticists involved in the study and treatment of developmental syndromes.
