DESERT ARCHITECTURE

The climatic development over the past years and the predicted climatechange worldwide give us reason to launch a new series, which will dealwith architecture in extreme environment as well as with extremearchitecture in general. Special requirements, due to climatic conditionsin their increasing radicalness, do not only demand a great deal ofmaterial and workmanship but also ask for a special engineeringperformance and adjusted architectural concepts. This volume will feature50-60 projects from climatic regions where it is extremely hot like in thedeserts. Articles explain the climatic framework, in which the projectshave been built and point out which materials are adequate for buildingsin extremely hot areas.
