Neil Taylor was from 1975 to 2005 director of Regent Holidays, a British tour company that has specialised in travel to the Baltic countries and Kaliningrad since 1991. He visits the area about four times a year and in 1999 his Bradt guide to Estonia was first published; it is now in its fourth edition. He is now a non-executive director of Martin Randall Travel, is on the Board of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), and writes and broadcasts on general travel trade topic
