Mr. Goldstein is the Senior Economic Affairs Officer at the ESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia of the United Nations. His main duties include promoting policy dialogue, undertaking outreach activities, and providing analysis-based policy recommendations in the subregional economies.
Prior to taking up the current assignment in April 2012, he served at the OECD since September 1993, including as Deputy Director of the G8-G5 Heiligendamm L'Aquila Dialogue Process Support Unit and Head of Global Relations at the Investment Division.
Mr. Goldstein also worked for the World Bank Group and, as a consultant, the Interamerican Development Bank and the UK Department for International Development. He has published widely on development issues, including the emergence of the BRICS and South-South economic and business cooperation. An Italian and Argentinean national, he studied at Columbia (School of International Public Affairs) and Bocconi Universities.
