Alice Goldfarb Marquis is a Visiting Scholar in the Department of History at the University of California at San Diego. For much of her life she has also worked as a journalist, contributing numerous articles and reviews to The Nation, The Journal of American History, Biography, American Heritage and many other publications. Her previous books include Marcel Duchamp: The Bachelor Stripped Bare, Art Lessons: Learning from the Rise and Fall of Public Arts Funding, and Alfred H. Barr, Jr: Missionary for the Modern.
